Himalayan Salt Lamp Blues

from Refracted Focus by Prahnas

/

lyrics

I got my daughter
A Himalayan salt lamp
And I told her if she slept with it on
It would chase away bad dreams
But then she outgrew it
After maybe a year
And now it resides
On the nightstand beside my bed
And sometimes I bathe
In it’s dull orange glow
And I think about how
It would make the perfect blunt instrument
If someone wanted to kill me
They could bash in my skull
With only one or two swings
Of the salt lamp while I sleep
But since becoming a parent
I wake easily to the sound of footsteps
So I’d like to see them try
I’d like to see them try
